Okinawa, a prefecture of Japan consumes more tea per capita than any other part of the world. They also celebrate having one of the lowest obesity rates in the world (less than 6%). This has led to many studies to see if the two are linked.
This is a beautiful high grade leaf tea with a very smooth flavour and it can be re-infused a number of times. This tea has not been infused with jasmine like some okinawan tea, rather it has been left in its pure green tea form. |

| Lung Ching (Dragon’s Well) |
|
 |
| |
Lung Ching is as close to pure, freshly cut tealeaves as possible. When added to water the tea transforms into perfectly formed tiny camellia leaves. The taste is fresh and clean, like dew on green grass. The liquor is clear and green. Lung Ching is extraordinarily high in antioxidants and naturally low in caffeine. A subtle taste for those who enjoy their tea pure and unadorned. |

Gunpowder green tea is so named for two reasons. The first is that when the British began the tea trade with China, they believed the tightly rolled leaves with their dark colour resembled gunpowder. The second reason is that the leaves are so tightly compressed that they “explode” into life when added to water. Once tried, the unique character and taste of gunpowder in not easily forgotten, making it one of the most popular teas in China. Due to its compressed nature, about half the normal amount of tea is required to make a pot of delicious, fragrant tea. |
